We love Seared Ahi Tuna (you can use yellow fin too). This is such a simple recipe because I don’t like to cover up the taste of the tuna. Like most of my recipes, I make extra so I can have this the next day on Ahi Tuna salad. I think the only way to have tuna is either raw or seared like this recipe. The only thing that makes this recipe challenging is overcooking the tuna. As long as it’s rare it’s really tasty. If you like yours more done, then it might be tough. Like all my fish recipes be sure to buy wild-caught, and if you can get it fresh, even better.
Ingredients
4- 5 oz wild-caught tuna fillets (2 of them are for leftovers)
1/3 cup sesame oil
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
Salt and pepper tuna fillets. Heat sesame oil in saute’ pan on high heat. Sear tuna on one side for 1-1 1/2 minutes (depending on thickness); turn and sear for another minute on the other side. Let rest for 5 minutes and serve.
