Blackberry Smoothie Recipe

This is another smoothie recipe that was inspired by Terry Wahls. As is typical I’ve changed it to fit our program, and you can do the same with your smoothies. We use an organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based protein with MCT oil in our smoothie recipes. If you use one that doesn’t have MCT oil in it, be sure to add that so you get a good dose of a healthy fat to start your day.


1 frozen banana

1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries

1/4 cup chopped or shredded beets, raw or cooked

1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein powder  (add 1 TBSP MCT oil if the powder doesn’t have it already)

1 can full-fat coconut milk or 1 cup almond milk or water

1 tsp cinnamon


Put all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
